Virtual Reality Tour of a Trophy Penthouse in Downtown Miami
In a time where most of us in this world are constrained to the confines of our homes, virtual reality offers an escape from the monotonous, melancholic doldrums. For the real estate industry at large, virtual reality provides an opportunity for prospective buyers to virtually experience faraway properties from the comfort of their living rooms. And make no mistake about it, with the use of a virtual reality headset, the experience can feel lifelike.
So that you can experience it for yourself, below, I’ve included a 3D virtual reality tour of my trophy penthouse listing at 900 Biscayne Bay. Again, to get the FULL experience, you will need a virtual reality headset but, even without one, you can still appreciate the awesomeness of this technology. Just be sure to watch it in full-screen mode.
The virtual reality tour below begins as you exit the elevator into the private elevator foyer. From there, the right-hand side of the residence includes the salon, kitchen, dining area, living room, master bedroom, and master bathroom while the left-hand side includes the media room, second and third bedrooms, second and third bathrooms, half bathroom, and laundry room.

David Guetta’s Duplex Penthouse at Paraiso Bay (Video Tour)
As they say, good things come to those who wait. After waiting three-plus years for Related Group’s Paraiso Bay condo development to be completed, David Guetta’s custom-designed, duplex penthouse has been unveiled. The internationally acclaimed DJ and songwriter closed on it last September for $6 million and, after being on the market for only two days, was recently leased for $18,000 per month. Zelda Freud and Michael Wiesenfeld represented Guetta in both transactions.
Below is a video of David Guetta’s Miami penthouse. The three-bedroom, 4.5-bath condo residence was entirely custom-designed by famed Italian designer Piero Lissoni. Located on the 53rd and 54th floors of Paraiso Bay, it breathtaking views of the ocean, city, and bay. The first floor – which spans 2,387 square feet of interior space plus a 429-square-foot balcony – features a double-height foyer and wraparound staircase, a master bedroom, living room, and open kitchen. The second floor features a 373-square-foot den and 2,121-square-foot rooftop terrace with private pool and summer kitchen.
“The development brings together the best of everything that makes the city so magical – the ocean, cuisine, design, art and culture,” says Carlos Rosso, President of The Related Group’s Condominium Development Division. “With its endless list of amenities, impressive oceanfront location and close proximity to Miami Beach, the Miami Design District and Brickell, it’s no wonder we’ve had so many A-listers purchase residences here.”
Additional celebrities who have already purchased units at Paraiso include Alex Rodriguez, Gael Monfils, and Arantxa Sanchez.
Echo Brickell Penthouse Re-listed for $42M
After being taken off the market for three months, the Echo Brickell penthouse is back…once again listed for a cool $42M. The sprawling, two-story penthouse encompasses the entire 56th and 57th floors of Echo Brickell. It was custom designed by world-famous architect Carlos Ott and features over 9,000 interior square feet, 4 bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, a den, service suite, and indoor lap pool and spa overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Bitcoin-denominated Penthouse Switches to U.S. Dollars
Well, that didn’t last long! The Bitcoin-denominated penthouse at Platinum Condominium has switched its denomination to U.S. Dollars. With Bitcoin’s recent plunge in value and high-risk volatility, this should come as no surprise. As of today’s trading, Bitcoin had lost 50 percent of its peak value set just last month.
The asking price of the penthouse is now quoted as $525,000. Had it remained listed in bitcoins, the price would be roughly equivalent to $355,000…$170,000 less than its current asking price but still $40,000 more than what the seller paid! The owner of the penthouse purchased it for $315,000 about one year ago.
Perhaps Bitcoin had its shining moment but, today, it’s all about the Benjamins baby!
Art Basel Special: Top Miami Trophy Properties Day 2
Last week, we were invited for a tour of the Penthouse Collection at 1 Homes South Beach and WOW! The way that the residences and hotel have been redesigned by internationally renowned Brazilian interior designer, Debora Aguiar, it is as though you are living in nature in the most glamorous way.
Ms Aguiar used an abundance of plant life in the most creative ways, driftwood finishings to bring the feel of a beach house into the development and oversized windows and terraces to really celebrate the project’s oceanfront location. She also tied in all of the modern conveniences and elegant touches that you would expect in a South Beach trophy property. To be honest, after the tour, I could have filled the entire week-long series with trophy residences here, but let’s start with one.
For those who have not yet visited 1 Homes, it is located along Collins just between the W South Beach (where Zaha Hadid lived) and the Faena District. It is walking distance to the Bass Museum of Art as well as the Miami Beach Convention Center, which makes for another reason it should be included on this week’s list.
Penthouse 1610 is located on the southeast corner of the building, offering amazing sunrise views of the ocean and plenty of large windows for those who enjoy the afternoon breeze. It has 4 bedrooms, 5.5 baths and a den over two levels. There is 3,955 square feet of interior living space and 745 square feet of terraces overlooking the pool area and beach. The apartment is fully finished and furnished by Rose Ink Workshop, a local interior design company founded by Liubasha Rose, the famed former Vice President of Design at Starwood Capital Group. It is estimated that $150,000 was spent on furnishings in each room of this penthouse.
Owners enjoy all the privileges and conveniences of resort living at this LEED certified property while having access to four elevated oceanfront swimming pools, an onsite SoulCycle studio, a 18,000-square-foot spa and fitness center, priority seating at three exceptional restaurants and bars from award-winning chef Tom Colicchio, and a stylish rooftop pool and restaurant-bar with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Miami skyline.
The penthouse is available for purchase for $20 million including all of the services offered to members of 1 Homes. You are also welcome to use any of the other 1 Homes locations, which include Brooklyn and Central Park in New York as well as Cabo San Lucas in Mexico and will soon include West Hollywood, Haitang Bay China, and Silicon Valley.
Art Basel Special: Top Miami Trophy Properties Day 1
Welcome to Art Basel week! This year, we are going to celebrate Miami’s own holiday week with a special series. Rather than our normal lineup of market statistics, development news and neighborhood information, we are going to highlight the best and brightest of Miami’s trophy properties all week long!
Each post this week will feature at least one special property so that you can preview the art that is Miami real estate. All of the properties will be available for purchase for at least $1 million and will stand out in some way, shape or form.
We are going to start the series off in the Miami Riverfront enclave with Ivy at Riverfront’s Upper Penthouse. For those who are unfamiliar, the Miami Riverfront enclave is a guarded and gated community along the north bank of the Miami River, just across from Brickell City Centre. It offers close proximity to Brickell but also the added security of the guard gates. Each of the buildings also has 24-hour doorman as well as valet.
Upper Penthouse 5 is a city-chic palace with three total levels, 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and a rooftop terrace that rivals most local hotel terraces. The interior has 2,418 square feet and with the balconies and rooftop terrace, you wind up with almost 4,600 total square feet of space!
The corner penthouse for sale offers 270 degree views of Downtown Miami, the Biscayne Bay, Coral Gables and South Beach. Also, since it is on the corner you get amazing sunrise and sunset views. The rooftop terrace has several seating areas, wood porcelain flooring, a stainless steel summer kitchen and a jacuzzi with a view.
Inside, the seller has heavily upgraded every corner. The kitchen has Viking and Bosch appliances and quartz countertops. Custom lighting and sheer draperies were added throughout, with blackouts in the bedrooms.
This property is offered for $1.75 million unfurnished, or $1.85 million with all of the furnishings, a second parking space and separate storage area. For a private tour, call/text 305-428-3860 or email [email protected].
A Review Of The Penthouse At Brickell City Centre’s Reach Tower
If you’ve ever dreamed of living in a palace in the sky, but also dreamed of living on top of an elegant shopping district, but also dreamed of living in a condo that was perfect for entertaining AND perfect for family, then we’ve got just the thing for you. Swire has released the newly finished upper penthouse at Reach Tower above Brickell City Centre and it does not disappoint.
Before we go to the review and photos, here are the specs: Penthouse 4203
4 bedrooms, 3 baths, 2 powder rooms, 2 family rooms, 4 terraces, service quarters, rooftop pool & summer kitchen
Interior Size: 4,346 square feet
Exterior Size: 1,823 square feet
Price: $6,650,000
The Views
Starting with the views since many people in the $5 million-plus price range automatically ask for waterfront options, let me show you why I consider high floors in the city to be a better option…
If you’re in a waterfront condo, the blue water is pretty, but what will you look at after the sun goes down? Nothing. With the high floor city view, you still see the beautiful blue water of the Biscayne Bay AND the Atlantic Ocean, plus the glittering city lights at night. Gorgeous.
Speaking of water views and glittering city lights, how about you enjoy them from your private rooftop pool? Or maybe throw together a little al fresco dinner party in your summer kitchen?
To the West, you can see the city lights at night all the way to the Everglades.
The South view also offers more distant water views as the coastline tapers in through South Brickell, Coconut Grove and Coral Gables.
Now, let’s go inside for some renderings vs real life fun!
The Kitchen/Living Room Layout and Finishes
Ok, so we can see that the renderings were based on a different penthouse, but the finishes look 100% on-point, and LOOK AT THAT SPACE! I can’t even begin to think of the number of different events you could host here. Of course, if you’re a homebody like me, you could also just chill on a different sofa every night of the week and cook some crazy recipes in that kitchen.
I’m not sure what to say about that kitchen. If it were mine, I’d have platters of hors d’oeuvres filling that marble countertop for my friends and every kitchen gadget offered so that I could cook more. Heaven.
The Bathrooms
Here we are again with a rendering that was based off of another penthouse, but with on-point finishes. I love the teak shower floor. It gives a no-slip yet luxurious spa feel. Also, the backlit mirrors are typically demonstrated in sales centers and renderings, but are actually an upgrade that you don’t find out about until later. Not here. Swire delivered what they demonstrated.
The Floor Plan
Swire and Arquitectonica clearly did their homework on versatility with this layout. The way the floor plan is laid out; with the master bedroom in the front and the other bedrooms in the back, separated by the family room, it’s almost like there is a guest house.
I can see it already… a family gathering and the adults want to have adult conversations but the kids want to run crazy and do kid things. The kids can go to the family room and party with the nanny while the adults have wine and peace.
Or, it could be that the owner wants to give their guests an additional sense of privacy…. they have their own living room with a balcony.
Another thing I would like to point out is the amount of storage space! There are closets everywhere you turn AND a walk-in pantry! This is not something that is common in our marketplace.
Finally, I really appreciate the fact that they thought to separate the laundry room from the staff quarters. I always find it a bit oppressive to see the housekeeper’s bed pushed up next to the washing machine. This is 2017, not Downton Abbey. At the same time, the service quarters is not included in the bedroom and bathroom count, as they sometimes are. In this apartment, you get 4 full bedrooms, 3 full baths PLUS a bedroom and bathroom for the nanny/housekeeper who keeps your life straight.
All-in-all, I’m giving this penthouse a rave review. See below for additional photos and let us know if you would like a tour for yourself!
Jeremy Shockey Reduces Price Of South Beach Bachelor Pad
Retired NFL star and local football legend Jeremy Shockey is eager to take his talents off of South Beach. After trying unsuccessfully to sell his art deco nightclub-inspired penthouse at The Waverly on South Beach for $3 million in 2015, he decided to give it another go this summer. In July, it was listed for sale at $3.25 million and for rent at $10,000/month.
Fast forward to today and Shockey has already undergone three price revisions on the rental offering, slashing the price down to $8,500/month. It had rented last summer for $9,000/month. He has also reduced the price of the sale offering down to $2.85 million.
It makes sense that Shockey should be so eager to fill the vacancy or unload the penthouse because he currently has under construction a large house on a golf course in South Miami and really seems excited to embrace the retired golf lifestyle over the South Beach party lifestyle. Here is a photo of the progress at Jeremy Shockey’s new place along with the listing photos of the South Beach bachelor pad.

VIDEO: Brickell Flatiron Reaches The 16th Floor
Despite reports that Brickell Flatiron had lost one of its tower cranes during Hurricane Irma, the project did not suffer damage and remains on track for completion in the summer of 2019. As of this week, they have reached the 16th floor of vertical construction and continue to build at a rate of one floor per week.
The development broke ground in March of 2016. After ten months of site work, the foundation was poured in January 2017 during a ceremonious 24-hour process. Sales have remained steady as well, with 70% of the units already under contract.
Tower Residences are currently available from $480,000 to $1.62 million. The Penthouse Collection offers residences from $980,000 to $1.78 million, and in July the opulent Upper Penthouse Collection was unveiled with prices ranging from $6 million to $15.5 million.
