Construction is currently around 50 floors and should top off early in 2017 then completing later in the year. ECHO Brickell is the most luxurious of the Brickell new construction buildings. It was designed by Carlos Ott and developed by New York’s Property Market’s Group. Some of the features the residences will be outfitted with are biometric building access, summer kitchens, robotic parking system and private elevators.
While the building has been a success from a sales perspective, there are a handful of units remaining, ranging in price from $930,000 for a 914 square foot one bedroom up to $5.25 million for a 2,686 square foot residence on the 48th floor with 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. Two penthouses remain, priced at $18.75 million for a full floor on the 55th level with 4 bedrooms, 5.5 baths and over 5,000 square feet of living space and $41.8 million for the 10,000 square foot upper penthouse that will be custom designed by Carlos Ott himself to meet the needs of the owner. The penthouses also have private pools on the terrace.
Construction Accident at Echo Brickell Leaves 1 Dead, 5 Injured
Being that Brickell is one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in America, traffic is typically pretty congested, but today was a different level. Right at rush hour, there was an accident on the Echo Brickell construction site, showering Brickell Avenue with construction debris that left 5 people injured, 1 passed away and thousands were stuck in gridlock.
Many news outlets are reporting that a construction crane fell, but as you can see in the photo, it was a scaffolding that came loose and fell from the 48th floor down to the street. The construction crews were getting ready to pour the concrete into the form set that they had built when the panels came loose and fell. Luckily no construction workers were standing on the scaffolding at the time.
Down on the street, a car was crushed by the falling debris and the driver was trapped inside. Emergency workers quickly closed Brickell Avenue and evacuated the Four Seasons building next door. One man had a heart attack as he fled to escape the falling debris. As of 10pm, crews are still trying to secure the remaining panels that are dangling from the construction site and Brickell Avenue is still closed.
Unfortunately, construction accidents are not so uncommon with high rises. Paramount Bay, Biscayne Beach and Infinity at Brickell all had their turn at mishap while they were rising. I imagine a visit from OSHA is next up for the folks at Echo. We hope those who were affected have a speedy recovery.
Brickell Condo Tour and Construction Update [VIDEO] – February 14, 2015
It has been about four months since my last video tour covering the fast-paced development taking place in Brickell. Since then, a lot has happened, so I figured it was time to get back out on the road and provide everyone with another update. As you will see, this video is much more comprehensive, covering not only current and future construction, but also existing condo developments for those who may be unfamiliar or newly acquainted with the Brickell condo market. In the video, I even highlighted two, large commercial properties in Brickell which recently traded hands – the SunTrust building located at 777 Brickell Avenue, which sold earlier this week for $140M, and the former Capital at Brickell site located at 1420 South Miami Avenue, which was acquired this past December for $74.74M by CCCC International USA LLC, a subsidiary of Beijing’s China City Construction and American Da Tang Group of New York.
Echo Brickell – Brickell’s Latest Pre-construction Condo Development
It appears that a luxury pre-construction condo development named Echo Brickell will begin accepting reservations next week. The Miami Herald reports that the skyscraper will rise 750 feet , or 60 stories, and feature large floor plans with up to 250 total units. The penthouses are expected to span over 7,000 square feet – unusually large by Brickell standards. Once completed, Echo Brickell will be the second tallest building in the neighborhood.
Unlike the handful of other pre-construction condo developments in Brickell that have been announced over the past couple of years, Echo Brickell will be located directly on the famed Brickell Avenue. The development will be erected at 1451 Brickell Avenue – a corner lot between The Four Seasons and St. Jude Melkite Catholic Church. Echo Brickell will be developed by Property Markets Group – the same development group which recently had a very successful launch of a 190-unit condo development in Aventura called Echo Aventura. World famous architect, Carlos Ott, has been chosen to design the luxury high-rise. Units at Echo Brickell will feature 10, 12 and 14-foot ceilings. The article states that plans for Echo Brickell include a swimming pool, which will encompass an entire floor about midway up the building, along with a fitness center and spa above it. The units will be sold move-in ready.
No mention of pricing was included in the article. However, in the coming days, I plan to get more information regarding Echo Brickell…so stay tuned!
