Jeff Bezos Buys Waterfront Mansion on Indian Creek Island for $68 Million

Third-richest man in the world and billionaire Jeff Bezos reportedly paid $68 million for a waterfront mansion on Miami’s Indian Creek Island. An organization that bought the demolished home at 11 Indian Creek Island Road was controlled by the founder of Amazon.

Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sánchez, a former news reporter, and pilot, were searching for a new or restored property in the Miami region. He probably began looking for a home when in Miami in May for the Formula One Grand Prix. Given that he has looked at residences on La Gorce Island, Star Island, and North Bay Road in Miami Beach, he might potentially be prepared to buy additional properties.

The home was originally built in 1965 with some additional renovations completed in 1985. The home features 9,300 square feet of living space with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on 2.8 acres. According to tax records, the sellers are listed as hotelier Tulia Soucy de Gonzalez Gorrondona.

Other notables on Indian Creek Island include hedge fund manager Eddie Lampert, businessman Carl Icahn, Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, musician Julio Iglesias, and auto dealer magnate Norman Braman.

David Guetta is also under contract to purchase the beachfront spec home at 37 Indian Creek Island Drive, which has a $69 million asking price.

St. Regis Residences Miami

Construction is progressing at St. Regis Residences Miami with the newest construction permit submission.

The application was submitted on August 9 but without the full plans, the permit review will not begin. The permit has not yet been assigned to a contractor. The owner is identified as 1809 Brickell Property Owner, LLC, and the contact information is a Related group email. According to the permit, the hard construction cost will be $201,740,547.

By a 4-0 vote in June, the UDRB recommended approval of the project, subject to the developer’s agreement to “study the balconies at the lower levels in an attempt to widen areas that cannot currently be fully furnished.”

After around four months of evaluation, the Federal Aviation Administration authorized the tower’s permanent height at 630 feet above the ground, or 639 feet above sea level, on July 14.

For the location, total demolition permission was requested in June and is currently being handled.

St. Regis Residences Miami is planned to rise 52 stories or 639 feet and will include 391 parking spaces as well as 152 residential units.

Robert A.M. Stern Architects is creating the project with a nautical concept. CFE is the architect of the records.

David Guetta, a well-known DJ and producer, is under contract to purchase a beachfront spec mansion in Indian Creek that was recently listed for $69 million.

Guetta, who owns a condo at the Setai Miami Beach, reportedly sold his record collection to Warner Music for roughly $100 million two years ago. At the time, he had sold 50 million records and had more than 14 billion streams of music.

The celebrated French DJ is buying the almost 16,000 square foot, 12-bedroom estate at 37 Indian Creek Island Drive. The 1.2-acre property has 118 feet of water frontage. The property is being sold to Guetta by developer Todd Michael Glaser and his associates.

The Indian Creek property was sold to Glaser, Jim Randall, Scott Robins, and Jonathan Fryd two years ago for $23.8 million by longtime “Sábado Gigante” host Don Francisco. They started work on the spec mansion after demolishing the old residence.

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s property, which they acquired for $24 million in 2021, is right next door to the residence.

Indian Creek, a gated community, is located north of Miami Beach. Additionally, multibillionaire hedge fund manager Eddie Lampert, musician Julio Iglesias, Hotels.com co-founder Bob Diener, and auto industry titan Norman Braman own homes at this exclusive neighborhood.

In an off-market transaction that established a record for Indian Creek in June, hotelier Tulia Soucy de Gonzalez Gorrondona sold her beachfront mansion at 11 Indian Creek Island Road for $68 million. For his neighboring mansion at 26 Indian Creek Island Road, seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady obtained a $35 million construction loan in that month.

Financing has now been secured for the property with official sales projected to start in Fall 2023.

Indian Creek Residences & Yacht Club’s $29 million construction credit was originated by Miami-based private real estate lender BridgeInvest. Its flagship fund, BridgeInvest Specialty Credit Fund IV, focuses on development, bridge, and value-add financing across the United States. BridgeInvest provided the construction funding, which was organized by Raffi Landau of Estreich and Company.

According to the CEO of Landau Properties, Jonathan Landau, “We are pleased to have the confidence of BridgeInvest on this very special project that will offer an unparalleled opportunity on the Bay Harbor Islands. Shore Club Private Collection Secures $430 Million Construction Loan

Shore Club Private Collection South Beach
Shore Club Private Collection South Beach

Shore Club Private Collection, which is expected to be one of the fastest-selling luxury complexes in Miami Beach history, has closed on a $430 million construction financing from Witkoff Group, a Miami-based development and investment company, and Monroe Capital, a renowned asset management company.

The loan, which was provided by J.P. Morgan, is thought to be the biggest ever for a South Florida residential building project. Since its late January debut, sales have surpassed $550 million, and two-thirds of the inventory has been sold. As a result, Shore Club is prepared to start building later this year, with a 2026 completion date anticipated.

Shore Club Private Collection will house 49 houses created by the renowned New York-based firm Robert A.M. Stern Architects, building on the rich legacy of Miami Beach’s Art Deco and contemporary design style while also fostering a seamless link to its landmark site. Some of New York City’s most well-known structures were designed by this architect, including 15 Central Park West and 220 Central Park South. The three acres of coastal land where Shore Club will be located will have magnificent botanical gardens created by renowned landscape designer Nathan Browning of Island Planning Corporation.

The development, which features a brand-new structure from the ground up, The Tower, a recently renovated Art Deco structure that was first finished in 1939, The Cromwell House, and The Beach House, a distinctive single-family beach house, is Robert A.M. Stern’s first residential oceanfront project. In order to offer a product that is unique to the Miami market, each component was designed to maximize views and light in conjunction with the curve of each property. The interiors expand on this concept by drawing design cues from yachts as well as the patterns and motion of the waves and sand along Miami’s shoreline. On the architecture, RAMSA worked with Miami-based Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design.

The 20-story Tower offers two- to six-bedroom homes with floor-to-ceiling windows, artistically curving balconies, and sizes ranging from 1,900 to more than 10,000 square feet. The Tower offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and sunsets, along with private and semi-private elevators and private terraces. The eight-story ancient Cromwell House will be renovated into four opulent homes, three of which will be duplexes, along with a penthouse. These four and five-bedroom residences will have a spacious full-floor penthouse as well as two-story great areas with spectacular double-height ceilings. The Beach House, which will measure 6,000 square feet with three outdoor spaces totaling more than 2,180 square feet, will be the sole private residence on Miami Beach’s oceanfront.

Together with Auberge Resorts Collection, we have a shared vision for reinventing the Shore Club Private Collection. Even though they are part of a five-star resort, the homes will offer solitude and seclusion while being maintained by Auberge. A discrete porte cochere entrance, three distinct swimming pools, including a private residential pool, a 75-foot lap pool, a leisure pool, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, a library, a lounge, and other amenities are among the unique services and amenities available to residents.

In addition to access to the world-class spa, concierge services, housekeeping, beach club, and culinary experiences, such as in-residence dining, house sommelier services, a signature restaurant, poolside café and bar with dedicated cabana service, double-height café and bar leading to an outdoor lounge, and more, Auberge Resorts Collection’s one-of-a-kind reputation for intimate tailored service will also extend to the residences with a variety of in-home offerings.

The starting price for Shore Club Private Collection is $6 million.
