Witkoff Proposed 3 Tower Development at Former Miami Arena Site
Three tower development has just been proposed to the Miami Urban Development Review Board at the site of the former Miami Arena.
In May 2023, developer Witkoff signed the utilities deal for the site located at 700 N. Miami Avenue at Miami Worldcenter.
The original design for the tower showed the tallest out of the three buildings to reach 57 stories tall. This revised proposal states that the three towers will rise 577 feet, 589 feet, and 615 feet with the tallest of the towers to reach 54 stories. The ground floor supermarket was in the original plans for the development but according to the proposal, it is no longer included.
The 700 N. Miami site proposal also includes 30,535 square feet of commercial space, 2,078 parking spaces on levels 2 through 9, and 2,346 residential units. Amenities for the development will include an amenity deck, indoor lounges, rooftop amenities for each tower, and pools for each tower.
Kobi Karp is listed as the architect for the project. The Urban Development Review Board is scheduled for June 21, 2023.
Museum of Ice Cream to Open at Miami Worldcenter
In 2024, Miami Worldcenter will welcome the permanent opening of the Museum of Ice Cream. The new facility will be more than 14,000 square feet on two levels, with an entrance on the pedestrian promenade of Worldcenter.
The Museum of Ice Cream will feature 10 interactive installations that are inspired by Miami including, MOIC’s sprinkle pool, the Hall of Freezers, Mary-E’s Diner, and the Cream Liner.
There will also be 5 stations where guests can taste sweets during the 60-90 interactive tour
The art installation was originally open in 2017 at Faena Miami Beach for as a temporary location for 2 months but was so popular, they kept the installation up for 6 months.
Museum of Ice Cream is located at Miami Worldcenter at 851 NE 1st Avenue, Unit 134, Miami.
Miami Worldcenter is a $6 billion mixed-use complex in downtown Miami, which is spread across 27 acres and ten city blocks and includes retail, hospitality, business, and residential areas, is one of the biggest private urban real estate developments in the United States. Three residential buildings, a sizable chunk of the retail area, and a recently built CitizenM hotel are among the project’s phases that have already been finished and are occupied.
New Boutique Development Proposed at Champlain Tower South Site by DAMAC Properties
Plans for a beachfront luxury condo complex by Zaha Hadid Architects were submitted by the Dubai developer who purchased the Surfside site last summer.
After the collapse of Champlain Tower South in 2021, the property was listed for sale. Damac purchased the property for $120 million in 2022.
According to a corporate news release, Hussain Sajwani-led Damac Properties plans to erect a 2 tower (each with 12-stories) boutique buildings with 57 units on the 1.8-acre site at 8777 Collins Avenue. Renderings for the property show a 100 foot rooftop glass-bottomed pool that will connect the two towers.
Two significantly different building designs were produced by the late Pritzker Prize-winning architect’s company, reflecting two slightly different interpretations of the Surfside town code. According to renderings, one of the ideas is set back on the project’s south side. The second plan shows a structure without a stepped-back façade.
The statement mentions unit sizes ranging from 4,000 to 15,000 square feet. The amenities will feature a rooftop pool with an indoor exercise pool. It was initially intended to be a Cavalli-branded structure. Damac is currently seeking other brands to collaborate with on this new project.
Civica Center Phase II Receives FAA Approval
Civica Center Phase II, a 27-story residential skyscraper planned for construction at 1050 Northwest 14th Street in Miami’s Allapattah district, has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval. The project is being developed by Boston-based The Congress Group and Taurus Investment Holdings, LLC. Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer and landscape architect for the 301-foot-tall building that was created by CUBE3 Architects.
The structure will be able to rise 310 feet above mean sea level or 301 feet above ground level thanks to the building permissions that were acquired. The FAA claims that, under certain circumstances, the planned structure won’t violate obstruction rules and won’t be dangerous for air navigation.
The Civica Center Phase II designs, which were initially intended to be a 22-story office tower, underwent significant revisions after being submitted to Miami’s Urban Development Review Board in December 2022. The original plan was for an office tower with a generous 731,472 square feet of space to be built in place of an existing surface-level parking lot behind the first phase. But the developers adjusted their strategy in reaction to market developments and Miami’s rising demand for residential real estate.
According to the updated Civica Center Phase II plans, there will be 342 residential units, with floor designs ranging from small studio apartments to roomy two-bedroom homes with 552 to 1,240 square feet. Additionally, the construction will include seven parking levels with room for up to 584 vehicles. The design of the 27-story tower features a tasteful blending of white stucco, glass, and architectural components embellished with striking gold alucobond panels. The location of the site is convenient; it is bounded to the north by Northwest 14th Street, to the south by State Road 836, to the east by Northwest 10th Avenue, and to the west by Northwest Highland Road.
Developers for Cove Edgewater Launch Sales

There will be 116 residential units at Cove Miami, with 2 to 4 bedrooms. From $1.3 million to above $3.5 million will be the price range.
The UDRB received the plans in October 2022. Plans at the time indicated that the tower would have a top height of 465 feet and include a new baywalk section.
The architecture was created in collaboration with Kobi Karp and Dieguez Fridman, whilst Dieguez Fridman was the only designer of the interiors. The project is being developed in collaboration with Hazelton Capital Group and New York’s SB Development.

Lionel Messi is Moving to Miami after Signing with Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami
Lionel Messi has made the decision to sign with Inter Miami, which might drastically change the path of Major League Soccer. The MLS and Miami won a three-horse race against Barcelona and Saudi Arabia to sign the finest player in the world after days of momentum and a years-long chase.
In an interview with Mundo Deportivo on Wednesday, Messi made the announcement, confirming past rumors. Although no contract has yet been signed and no specifics have been made public, it is said to be a complicated, two-and-a-half-year agreement with a total worth well over $100 million.
According to reports, the arrangement will include commercial agreements for a portion of the broadcast and product revenue that the Argentine superstar will produce with Apple and Adidas, two important MLS partners. Additionally, it might provide Messi the choice to invest in Inter Miami after his playing career is over.
This deal will unquestionably raise soccer’s profile in the United States over the long term. On Wednesday, demand for Inter Miami tickets increased as rival clubs made preparations to host the world’s most well-known athlete.
Messi can’t formally sign with Inter Miami until the MLS summer transfer window begins on July 5. His contract with Paris Saint-Germain legally expires at the end of June. He’ll probably make his debut in either July or August. A July 21 match versus Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup, a month-long competition that includes teams from North America and Mexico, is one suggested date. After that, the MLS season will resume, and Messi will have the difficult challenge of guiding a team that is currently in last place.
Although his American adventure should be less demanding than the European club circuit, Messi may be able to extend his successful career. He is anticipated to represent Argentina at the Copa America in 2024, which will take place in the United States. He might still aspire for the 2026 World Cup, which the United States will also co-host.
