Newest Wynwood Hotspot Features 2 Restaurants and a Nightclub
“Bad friends, Good Drinks & Expensive Taste,” that’s the Moto for Wynwood newest spot Burdo. Opened just north of Cerveceria La Tropical on North Miami Avenue, Burdo has a 2,700-square-foot dining room and a 4,000-square-foot outdoor terrace that, like so many other new Miami hot places, morphs from restaurant to late-night party location after dark.
The concept was developed by SinMente Group, a Colombian hospitality company that established a comparable venue in Medellin in 2014. Burdo was brought to Miami by SinMente in collaboration with Buenavista Investment Group. Burdo’s main menu features American fare such as bowls, pizzas, and burgers, as well as sushi rolls.
Green apple and cheese pizza ($20) with blue cheese, mozzarella, bocconcini, green apples in maple syrup, almonds, basil, and spinach; truffle grilled cauliflower ($20); and “Black Wings” ($28) with sesame seeds, chives, and black barbeque sauce are among the highlights.
However, that isn’t the only food available on the premises. Criminal Taqueria at Burdo is located on Burdo’s patio. Tacos aren’t illegal, so don’t be alarmed. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, esquites, and elote bowls are served at the taqueria, which has a few chairs but is mostly meant for grab-and-go purchases. It has its own separate kitchen and serves tacos, burritos, quesadillas, esquites, and elote bowls.
The design of Burdo is just as exquisite as the menu! Mixing a modern yet reclaimed design makes for an inviting atmosphere. A white marble surfaced bar adorns the bar and tabletops with outdoor inspired wood chairs. Mixing with green vegetation, wood paneled walls, and black steel touches creates a unique look that will be an excellent side to your food.
Prices range from $4 to $13 per pound. At the taqueria, you can order a margarita or Michelada, or try Burdo’s more extensive cocktail menu, which includes mezcal-based drinks like La Parca and El Chingon, as well as specialty gin cocktails. Bottle service is provided after dark, when the high-tech sound and lighting systems come on.
Burdo is located at 2509 North Miami Avenue in Wynwood and they are opened from Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm to 3am. Don’t forget happy hour is from 5pm to 8pm.
Brick & Timber Collective Recently Purchased a Wynwood Mixed-Use Property for $9 Million
Brick & Timber Collective just increased their Wynwood portfolio with an off-market $9 million purchase of a newly finished mixed-use property.
The developer and real estate asset manager from San Francisco purchased a 3-story office and retail property at 2724 and 2734 Northwest First Avenue.
The mixed-use property is located across the street from Wynd 27 and Wynd 28. Kushner Companies and Block Capital Group are developing the site, with 152 apartments, 79,500 square feet of office, and retail space.
The building was purchased for $900 per square foot by Brick & Timber Collective, managed by partners Jesse Feldman and Glenn Gilmore. The property is leased to a bay area tech business that finished a 10,000 square feet makeover was finished one month ago.
According to public records, the seller, a subsidiary of Miami-based Fortis Design-Build, paid $1.8 million for the two properties in 2018.
The structure, designed by Florida International University Dean of Architecture Jason Chandler, has ground-floor retail, second-floor office space, and a rooftop deck that may be expanded, according to Polinsky.
This isn’t the first Wynwood project Brick & Timber Collective has been involved in. The company purchased a Wynwood Annex Class A office building in February for $49 million but plans on buying more properties in Wynwood in the future.
Brick & Timber Collective specializes in leasing office space to technology startups, and has been exploring Miami, notably Wynwood, for more than a year. “We were scanning the rest of the country to see which market would profit from the tech industry in the same manner that San Francisco has and we landed in Miami and Wynwood. There is a significant migratory change in progress.”
Sales Launch for NoMad Residences Wynwood
Sales of NoMad Residences Wynwood, a NoMad Hotel-branded condo building featuring a Casa Tua Cucina on the ground floor, have launched sales thanks to a joint venture between Related Group and David Edelstein’s Tricap.

Tricap, Related, and its project partner, Alex Karakhanian’s Lndmrk Development paid $26.5 million for the development site last year. The almost 1.3-acre property was sold by Chinese lender Seven Valleys, which took over the land from RedSky Capital and JZ Capital Partners.
The project will be NoMad Hotels’ first residential development, according to Andrew Zobler’s Sydell Group. (Last year, Zobler purchased a property in Miami Beach.) Sydell sold its stake in the NoMad hotel in New York, which reopened as the Ned last year as a Soho House property. The NoMad hotels are located in London, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

According to Nick Pérez, senior vice president at Related, buyers will be a mix of investors and end users, similar to the buyer pool at Related’s two short-term rental friendly condo projects, the Crosby at Miami Worldcenter and District 225. Pérez also mentioned the slew of IT firms that have or are planning to open headquarters in Wynwood.
The building will feature a rooftop restaurant and bar, which will be directed by James Beard Award winner Leo Robitschek, who was previously the bar director at New York City’s Eleven Madison Park, a three-Michelin-star restaurant.

Related Group along with W5 Group Break Ground on Wynwood Project-W28
In Miami’s Wynwood art’s district, the Related Group has partnered with W5 Group on a massive mixed-use project. According to a press conference, the Related Group has officially began construction with the ground breaking of the project, W28.
W5 Group has been the lead equity partner in the development, committing 80% of the capital for the project. The location of the development will be at 33, 45, and 51 NW 28th Street in Wynwood. The tower is being designed by Arquitectonica.
W28 will feature 200 fully furnished units that will be designed for co-living. The development will also feature 3,600 square feet of ground floor retail, co-working space, common areas, fitness center, rooftop pool, and outdoor space for activities.
The concept came to the founder of W5 because he believed that millennials needed affordable house with a co-living concept.
“As neighborhoods become more desirable, young people are often priced out. Co-living is an exciting proposition that offers tremendous value, enabling them to experience modern living in highly attractive units – all while meeting like-minded individuals and forming rewarding new bonds in coveted metropolitan areas,” stated found of W5.
The Related Group purchased the 2.1 acre site for $6.5 million in June 2021 for the 3 properties that consisted of a 12-unit apartment building, 4 bedroom house, and an additional vacant lot.
The Related Group has already completed Wynwood 25, a different co-living project that was co-developed along with East End Capital. The Related Group is also planning an additional project located at 2801 NW 3rd Avenue that they paid $32 million for last year.
“According to The Related Group executive vice president Jon Perez. “This collaboration with W5 Group is consistent with our commitment to ensuring that every new project in Wynwood, regardless of size and scale, enhances the neighborhood’s livability without compromising its rich culture.”
Wynwood’s First Mixed-Use Project with Over 1M Square Feet
L&L Holding Co. and Carpe Real Estate Partners are partnering for one of the largest mixed-use projects to rise in Wynwood. Working with the City of Miami Planning Department, the approval process is officially in the final stages.
Dubbed the name, The Wynwood Plaza, formerly 29N, will be sited on 95 NW 29th Street in the heart of Wynwood. The plan was originally brought in from Miami’s Urban Development Review Board in October where it was recommended for denial. The development team didn’t take no for an answer and continued to work on the board’s concerns over the project.
The concerns of the project included massing along 30th Street and the cross-block passage car access along NW 29th Street. The one-way vehicle passage was refined with a small footprint. One of the mitigations included the midblock access point would be limited to visitor cars managed by the valet.
The project, designed by Gensler, would feature two towers, one 12 and one 8 stories with 509 apartments. There would also be 266,000 square feet of offices, 32,000 square feet of commercial/retail spaces, 688 parking spaces, and 954 bike spaces.
The design itself will incorporate indoor and outdoor spaces that will benefit not only the residents but also the surrounding neighborhood. This design will include 25,000 square feet of a public plaza on the ground floor.
The groundbreaking for the project is scheduled for early this year with an anticipated completion date in 2024.
Wynwood’s Hottest New Club Opens this Weekend-Mad Club
The newest luxury night club, Mad Club, brought to you by The Dirty Rabbit Group, will open their doors this weekend in Wynwood. Mad Club will one of the few night clubs in Wynwood that offer a luxury experience with bottle service.
The style of this new night club is like no other in Wynwood or Miami for that matter. As you enter, you’ll be greeted by a hostess in a white room with lined with crystal chandeliers, giraffe heads, and an expansive champagne bar.
Once out of the champagne bar, the hostess will lead you to your reserved area that resembles a large honeycomb. Upon looking out from your reserved area, the DJ booth looks exactly like a bee hive. There is nothing short of a bee and honey theme throughout the club.
“Become part of the honeycomb and see what the Queen has to surprise you every time” is what Mad Club’s website conveys and it does not disappoint.
Mad Club will feature two famous DJ’s, DJ Anastasia and DJ Walgee, and will spread out between Fridays and Saturdays. Those days are the only ones that Mad Club is currently open but depending on popularity, they may open additional days.
According to the owner, Andres San Martin, “It’s our mission to provide an experience that not only speaks to the lifestyle of Miami, by showcasing extravagant design and a vibe like no other.”
Not only will there be bottle service, there will also be complementary champagne. There will be a strict dress code for all. Reservations are required with general admission, hightop tables, and VIP tables.
South Miami Welcomes NYC Restaurant in Summer 2022
Over the past year, Miami has seen a swarm of NYC eateries heading south including Carbone and COTE. Now we can add the Parisian-style bistro Pastis to the list. Pastis is famous for being the go-to French fare in the Meatpacking district and many celebrities have been known to frequent this famous restaurant.
Stephen Starr, James Beard Award-winning chef, and Keith McNally are the masterminds behind Pastis that have been in business for nearly 15 years. The new location is expected to open in the summer of 2022 at 380 NW 26th Street in the Wynwood neighborhood.
The design of the new location will be similar to NYC’s location. Designed by Paisely Design, the Miami location will feel like a “time-worn Parisian bistro.” Hardwood plans, a curved zinc bar, dark banquettes, subway tile, and vintage mirrors will flow effortlessly through the space. Handwritten daily specials along with the mosaic-tiled floor will bring the space together forming the vibe of the bistro.
According to Starr, “For the last few years, I’ve had my eye on Wynwood. I’ve witnessed the vibrant and artistic neighborhood transform into a booming cultural hub with an incredible dining scene. People want great food, energy, and a great location; Pastis Miami will be a perfect addition to the community.”
Pastis originally opened in 1999 in Manhattan, while quickly becoming the “go-to” spot for a-listers. In 2014, the building that the restaurant was in sold, and in the summer of 2019, they reopened and Starr joined the team.
Their classic menu includes French classics like steak tartare, onion soup, snails with garlic butter, trout amandine, filet au Poivre, and tuna Crudo.
