The Miami luxury real estate market is hot! It is so hot, that multiple real estate records have been broken in the last few months for Miami-Dade. Just last month, a luxury mansion sold for the highest price sold home in all of Miami-Dade history at $65 million.

Bay Harbor Islands also had a record-breaking sale of $12 million just last week, making it the highest sold home on all of the 2 islands. We are seeing more and more luxury residential homes sell than ever in the past few years and now we can add Gloria Estatfan’s mansion to the list!

Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio sold their Star Island Mansion for $35 million at the end of July. The buyer for this property is unknown but according to tax records, the buyer is listed under an LLC managed by Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group.

The gated waterfront mansion located at 1 Star Island Drive features a main house as well as a guest house situated on 1.3 acres of bliss. The two-story main house boasts 3 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, rich hardwood and marble floors throughout, arched doorways, and a large refined kitchen with remarkable ocean views.

At the front of the property is the separate 3 bedroom, 2.1 bathroom guest house. The grounds also feature a pool/spa, private boat dock, tropical foliage, and palm trees providing plenty of privacy. Sean “Diddy” Combs is also the neighbor of this gorgeous estate.

Gloria and Emilio first purchased the home for $1.84 million in 1993. The property has been on and off the market since 2015 at $40 million but the last list price in 2020 was $27.9 million.

Although their house sold, they will reside in their primary home which is reported to be within proximity to Star Island.

Guetta originally purchased the property in 2018 for $9.5 million from Richard LeFrak (New York billionaire).

Guetta is a French DJ, songwriter, and producer who has hit 50 million in record sales and streams over 10 million. For 2011 and 2020, Guetta was voted the #1 DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs. In 2013, he was also title Billboard’s #1 Dance-Pop Collaborator of all Time.

What a crazy week for luxury real estate! Another mansion just sold in Miami Beach by none other than retired Miami Heat basketball player, Dwyane Wade and wife, Gabrielle Union.

Wade and Union first purchased the home located at 5980 North Bay Road in Miami Beach in 2010 for $10.6 million. The couple originally listed the home for $32.5 million in 2019 and lowered the price in December 2020 to $20.6 million. The home has been under contract with the same buyer since January of this year and just closed on June 1, 2021.

Sitting on 13,800 square feet of living, the 6-bedroom, 9 full bathrooms, and 2 half bathrooms is infused with Spanish architecture mixed with contemporary designs throughout. The chef’s kitchen features neutral tones and quartz countertops with Sub-zero and Wolfe appliances. The home also boasts an impressive master suite, wine cellar, and a large theater.

The buyer for this property has not been disclosed. Wade and Union are currently residing in Los Angeles where they purchased a Hidden Hills Mansion for $18 million in 2020.

Dwyane Wade retired from his 16-year Miami Heat basketball career in 2019. Wade holds the Miami titles for all-time leader in points, games, assists, steals, shots made, and shots taken. He is also a minority owner of the Utah Jazz.

Gabriel Union is an American actress, activist, and voice actor. She has stared in movie roles on Bad Boys II, Bring It On, and She’s All That. Time Magazine included Union in the 100 Most Influential People in the World of 2020 magazine edition.

Lea Black of the Real Housewives of Miami Sells Waterfront Mansion on Star Island for $34 Million

Another waterfront mansion has just been added to the market and the owner is non-other than Lea Black of the Real Housewives of Miami. Her and her husband, Roy Black are selling their waterfront estate on Star Island for $34 million.

The waterfront mansion is located at 45 Star Island Drive situated at the entrance of Star Island on 1.07 acres with 190 feet of water frontage with an expansive dock. Featuring 9 bedrooms, 9 full bathrooms, and 3 half baths, the home includes 2 stories of 10,636 square feet of living space. The property was built in 1981. Amenities for this massive mansion include a pool and guest cottage.

The Black’s originally purchased the home in 2011 for $7 million, which is also the same year that the Real Housewives of Miami first aired on Bravo.

Leah Black stated in an email to TMZ, “We had planned to renovate and move there ourselves, but later decided that with our son in college, the amount of time we spend traveling and in L.A. that it was not feasible for us to enjoy further. Although we own other homes, this one is very special to us because of the exclusivity it offers and the wonderful people that live there.”

Lea and Roy have listed their home ‘for sale by owner,’ and stated that they have received a few qualified offers. The family also owns home in Coral Gables, Key West, and Los Angeles.

As news continues to spread of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s rekindling, it was recently announced that the couple have rented a Miami Beach mansion at 2700 North Bay Road in the North Bay Road neighborhood. North Bay Road features some of the most exclusive properties in South Florida, and has a reputation of luxury, exclusivity, and celebrity appeal.

Lopez and Affleck’s current residence was originally listed at $130,000 a month and still remains active on Miami’s Multiple Listing Service. With Bayfront views, this estate sits on 0.6 acres with 100 feet of water frontage.

With 11 bedrooms, 12 full bathrooms, and 3 half baths, this stunning 2-story residence features 10,114 square feet of living space. Additionally, the home features a guest house, 3 parking garages, gym, office, master suite with expansive balcony, large pool, jacuzzi, spa, and boat dock.

Originally built in 1925 by MV Group USA, the home was renovated in 2015 with a more modern and minimalist design. The home was originally listed for sale in December 2020 for $18.9 million and sold to a Jewelry designer, Paul Morelli in April 2021 for $17.5 million. The home was then listed for rent for $130,000 monthly and the status is still showing as ‘active’ in the MLS. According to the New York Post, Lopez is the one who rented the mansion.

Jennifer Lopez has previously owned in the neighborhood at 5800 North Bay Road but sold the property to Phil Collins for $33 million in 2015. Lopez and recent ex-fiancé, Alex Rodriguez purchased a home together on Star Island in Miami in late 2020 and it is unclear what they plan to do with the home since their separation.

American media personality and socialite, Kim Kardashian may be making the move to Miami along with other celebrities who are leaving the west coast. With announcements of her recent filing for divorce from rapper Kayne West; Life & Style Magazine have revealed that Kim K. is “checking out Miami real estate – and Miami men.”

Her claim to fame came when she first debuted on television as the personal stylist and friend to Paris Hilton. Over the years, she has created brands KKW Beauty, KKW Fragrance, and SKIMS; as well as starring in a hit reality tv show ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ that just ended its’ final season. Sources have said that Kim K. wants to restart her life and has referenced Miami being her target.

Florida is known for its less strict COVID guidelines, no state income tax, and lower cost of living; it should be of no surprise that a large number of celebrities are leaving the west coast and moving to South Florida.

Other celebrities that have made their way to Miami include; Ivanka and Jared Kushner purchasing their $32.2 million estate in Miami Beach’s Indian Creek, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen purchased a $17 million home also in Indian Creek, and Rob Gronkowski purchasing a $1.7 million condo in the Marquis Residences.

If you do not know who Rob Gronkowski is, surely you know him from this past Sunday’s Super Bowl Win by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gronkowski also referred to as ‘The Gronk,’ is the tight end for Tampa. Notable for being a skilled receiver and talented blocker, he has set many NFL records including being the only tight end in history to reach 1,000 yards or more.

After he retired from The New England Patriots in 2019, he immediately sold his condo in Boston and became a Miami inhabitant at the Marquis Residences. Gronkowski paid $1.7 million for the suite, which was originally owned by retired Norwegian Soccer player, John Carew. Original asking price was $2.5 million.
