Shaquille O'Neal

Yahoo News! reported earlier today that there are rumors that Shaquille O’Neal will be traded to the Phoenix Suns. I hope these rumors don’t prove to be true but it does sound like the Miami Heat will part ways with Shaq in the near future. I think everyone will agree that Shaquille O’Neal has been a great addition to the Miami community. He will definitely be missed.

Shaquille O’Neal’s home, on Star Island, is currently on the market for $32M. There were rumors on November 1, 2007, from the South Beach Real Estate Blog that Alex Rodriguez was looking to buy Shaq’s humble abode. I heard from other sources that the deal fell apart because Alex Rodriguez’s wife wanted to be closer to her family in Coral Gables. In my opinion, it may also be possible that Alex may have wanted to have his home a bit more distanced from Miami Velvet.

I haven’t fully thought this out yet, but I may, (still need to think about this one), consider stepping outside of my own personal boundaries of only listing condos and consider listing a luxury home like Shaq’s if his listing agreement expires before his home gets sold. Don’t hold me to this though because I am only contemplating it. I’m a very niche-0riented person so if I don’t return your phone calls Shaq, don’t hold it against me. I need a few days to think this one out.

…for the city, it’s not very good since shaq is still a great celebrity, though no longer a good player. shawn marion will be a great addition, basketball wise…but not a particulary good celeb. if you are a Heat fan, this was a great trade. but say goodbye to yet another real celeb…

Well I guess the rumors were true. It’s a shame to lose Shaq. One less true “celeb” in Miami as cyrus said. Quite disappointing!

Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks, if you need to find a condo then look no further.

marcus banks…one of the nba’s 10 worst contracts.

the shaq trade is so absurdly one-sided (i hope shaq proves me wrong). if this were fantasy, everybody would be screaming mad at the commish to veto the trade.

    How does this,

I don’t think it affects Met 3 at all. Shaq may have had his name associated with the development but I don’t think anyone said “Hey, Shaq is endorsing this development, so I’m going to buy”. That is very unlikely.

I believe I read in the business section of the paper many years ago that he did a joint venture sunk a lot of money into the project. I believe the project was stalled until shaq appeared on the seen as an investor.

    jcrimes,

We may be getting the better end of the deal here but I still hate to see Shaq leave Miami.

Here in Phx., I’m glad to see Shaq coming to town. You guys have a bunch of celebs.. We are just getting started. :-) Enjoy Marion though, he’s got game. His tv commercials suck but he can play!

We don’t have too many celebs living in Miami. Just Matt Damon, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, Lenny Kravitz and Shakira. I’m not quite sure yet why Shakira isn’t returning my calls for a dinner date. Shakira, if you’re reading this call me. Let’s grab a bite to eat.

Thank you MiamiRealEstateKing. I actually started my career with the Miami Beach KW office. I recently decided to join the Coconut Grove-Coral Gables office though. Are you planning to attend the family reunion event?
